Celebrating Independence in California

Celebrating Independence in California

California knows how to have a fantastic 4th of July celebration. Cities and towns throughout the Bay Area host parades and present fireworks displays that draw people from all neighborhoods. The birth of our nation is worthy of a blow-out celebration, but it means so much more. The 4th of July is also known as Independence Day, and independence can mean so much. To celebrate your own independence in California, consider buying your own bay area home.

The Meaning of Independence Day

In 1776, the first Continental Congress established the Declaration of Independence. The 13 colonies were declared united, free, and independent states and no longer subject to British rule under mad king George.

4th of July celebrations today commemorate this declaration but instead of being followed by a brutal war of independence, we host parades, picnics, and fireworks displays. But it’s also a good idea to consider the concept of independence to help you determine how it fits in to your personal life.

Freedom from High California Rents

Can you declare your own independence as an individual or a family? Escaping the cycle of rent is one way. With a mortgage you’ll know ahead of time your fixed or adjustable rate terms and won’t need to anticipate your landlord raising your rent each year while you have nothing to show for it.

In 2016, our partner company published this post to look at the pros and cons of renting versus buying. Some of the specifics have changed over time, especially in the California market, the overall message is good. At the very least, talk with Zachery Adam at GoPrime in California to see what might work for you.

Establish Your Financial Future

Personal independence and financial freedom often go hand in hand. But how you reach your financial goals will depend on your own situation. Investopedia provides great advice for anyone in their 20s to establish a good financial future, but these can be good suggestions at any age

  • Enjoy yourself
  • Know your skills are worth your salary
  • Plan ahead
  • Set financial goals
  • Be modest in your lifestyle costs

Buying your own California home may also help you prepare for the future.

Find Your Inner Peace

California is like a pendulum. Work hard, play hard. We can have a “go-go-go” lifestyle, but when we turn off, we really take relaxation seriously. But to be able to step away from the rat race, whether it’s for a weekend or forever, you need to have peace of mind. Buying a home won’t immediately end any worries you have, but it could help you in the long term as you plant roots in the Bay Area.

Consider your options for Independence Day this year and build a pathway to personal freedom. Talk with Zachery Adam of GoPrime in California today.
